We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.
1105 Media, Inc. announced today that Abraham Langer will be
transitioning to the newly created role of Vice President, Digital Media
for the 1105 Enterprise Computing Group (ECG). This marks the second
senior management appointment in the past 30 days for this team, which
also announced the addition of Meighan Berberich to Vice President of
Events. Previously, Langer had served as Vice President, Audience
Marketing and Web Operations for 1105 Media. In his new role, Langer
will be responsible for directing the online efforts of the ECG and will
be tasked with building on the strong success of the group’s
sites, such as Redmondmag.com, VisualStudioMagazine.com, MCPmag.com and
the newly launched VirtualizationReview.com.
“Abraham has the perfect set of skills to take
our already robust Web business to the next level,”
said Henry Allain, ECG’s president. “His
expertise in synthesizing products and improving process are key
attributes for this new position.”
During his time at 1105 media, Langer has been instrumental in
developing new online products and establishing the infrastructure
needed to deliver them to market. This has included architecting an
award-winning database that aggregates reader and user data from across
1105 and the migration and consolidation of the organization’s
content management systems.
“I am extremely excited to be moving over to
the ECG,” said Langer. “I
look forward to working with the incredible team that Henry has
assembled to build best-in-market Web properties. The ECG sits at the
very exciting intersection of technology, media and advertising, and has
led the B-to-B world in the first wave of online growth. We now stand at
the start of a new wave of Web-based information offerings and I am
thrilled to be a part of the team that will be developing innovative
products for our readers and advertisers.”
