Blast Radius Creates Social Entertainment Dashboard for Doppelganger's vSide

New Platform Lets Friends Share Virtual World Experiences

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/03/08 --

Strategic interactive agency Blast Radius has created an in-world social entertainment dashboard for Doppelganger, for its virtual world, vSide. Blast Radius developed the new dashboard with Doppelganger so that visitors aren't forced to move between the world and the Web to catch up with their friends. Previously, vSiders could only communicate and share their latest news and events through vSide forums, third party social networks and traditional email.

vSide is an immersive social experience that is a place for teens to party online. Stylish and richly designed, the site focuses on music, entertainment and fashion. vSide users create their own experiences with a unique mix of user-created entertainment and professionally programmed content.

Through three-dimensional avatars, teens are empowered to express themselves with a wide range of emotions and personas. The dashboard provides yet another way that vSiders users can share how they are feeling, promote the new music and fashions they love and showcase their in-world personal residences. Key features of the dashboard include:

-- Profile building -- Create a profile that expresses who you are and
    what you love about vSide.
-- Profile searching -- Build your network by searching for in-world
friends. It is also possible to locate your friends in-world then
    instantly join them.
-- Dashboard -- Know where your friends are in-world, what they are
doing, what they are listening to and their latest fashions through real-
    time newsfeeds to your dashboard.
-- Photo sharing -- Did you hit a dance party last night? Share these
experiences with your network by posting your favorite images.
-- Event posting -- There is always a party going on in vSide. The
communications platform helps you keep your vSide social calendar in order
and invite your friends to your next bash.

Understanding what makes vSide different from other virtual experiences, Blast Radius also worked with Doppelganger to rebrand the site. This includes the development of a new tagline, "vSide, Your Place to Party Online."

"Our work with Doppelganger is a new kind of partnership, and a perfect example of how Blast Radius is redefining what it means to be an interactive agency in a social media world. We are exploring new ways to build and create alongside our clients, adding value to their endeavors, while leaning on what we know best -- creating engaging and meaningful interactions between companies and their consumers." - Gurval Caer, president and CEO, Blast Radius

"We partnered with Blast Radius to work with us to streamline our brand and create a smoother user experience. Blast Radius took that to the next level by helping to build the social entertainment dashboard, a powerful feature that makes vSide more than a virtual world -- it's truly a social entertainment site built around common interests. The ideas and resulting product that Blast Radius brought to the table enable users to share and communicate in a way that is in line with our users' desires to fully represent their vSide lives and personalities." - Tim Stevens, president and CEO, Doppelganger

Signs of a shift in the usage of public clouds are everywhere. Previously, as organizations outgrew old IT methods, the natural answer was to try the public cloud approach; however, the public platform alone is not a complete solution. Complaints include unpredictable/escalating costs and mounting security concerns in the public cloud. Ultimately, public cloud adoption can ultimately mean a shift of IT pains instead of a resolution. That's why the move to hybrid, custom, and multi-cloud will ...

Using serverless computing has a number of obvious benefits over traditional application infrastructure - you pay only for what you use, scale up or down immediately to match supply with demand, and avoid operating any server infrastructure at all. However, implementing maintainable and scalable applications using serverless computing services like AWS Lambda poses a number of challenges. The absence of long-lived, user-managed servers means that states cannot be maintained by the service. Lo...

Kubernetes as a Container Platform is becoming a de facto for every enterprise. In my interactions with enterprises adopting container platform, I come across common questions: - How does application security work on this platform? What all do I need to secure? - How do I implement security in pipelines? - What about vulnerabilities discovered at a later point in time? - What are newer technologies like Istio Service Mesh bring to table? In this session, I will be addressing these commonly asked ...
In a recent survey, Sumo Logic surveyed 1,500 customers who employ cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). According to the survey, a quarter of the respondents have already deployed Docker containers and nearly as many (23 percent) are employing the AWS Lambda serverless computing framework. It's clear: serverless is here to stay. The adoption does come with some needed changes, within both application development and operations. Th...
