StillSecure and Montego Networks announced a
partnership that brings a higher level of security to virtual environments.
Through the integration between the Montego Networks HyperVSecurity technology
platform and StillSecure security solutions, virtual-to-virtual environments
can now be inspected and secured from network attacks.
Most security products cannot detect malicious
or harmful traffic within a virtual-to-virtual traffic flow without issues
relating to latency and efficiency. Traffic has to be routed out of the virtual
environment to a non-virtual, standalone appliance, where it is inspected and
then routed back to the virtual network. The integration between StillSecure
Strata Guard and Montego's HyperVSecurity architecture allows StillSecure
customers to leverage the benefits of the Montego Networks HyperSwitch -- the virtual
security switch. Deploying Strata Guard as a virtual machine within the Montego
environment protects virtual data centers, which is an important enabler for
environments with numerous virtualized servers and applications. Integration
with other StillSecure solutions is already under way.
"StillSecure has been on the cutting edge
of securing virtual environments for a number of years and we're excited to
build out our partnership as we launch Montego's efforts to secure virtualized
network environments," said John Peterson, CTO and Co-Founder of Montego
Networks. "We're excited by the strong interest that our HyperVSecurity
architecture and HyperSwitch product is having in the market because it
validates our approach to integrate network policy enforcement and access
control with a high-availability virtual security switch."
"Virtualization provides many benefits to
the data center including minimizing costs, rack space, as well as the time and
effort it takes to deploy new hardware and applications," said Alan
Shimel, Chief Strategy Officer at StillSecure. "Through our partnership
with Montego Networks, StillSecure has the ability to work within the hypervisor
to provide IDS/IPS, vulnerability management, and NAC in virtual-to-virtual
environments. We look forward to working with companies like Montego who
understand the importance of virtualization and can help us bring security to
the virtual world."
