Intellitactics unveils Intellitactics™ SAFE
(SAFE), a new product line of security appliances for security
organizations interested in log management, compliance and decreasing
the number of security- and compliance-related incidents. Intellitactics
SAFE appliances, simple-to-deploy and easy-to-use, enable every
organization to achieve best-in-class results, whether their focus is
audit-worthy reports, extreme logging or operational efficiency. The
first two appliances, announced at the RSA Conference this week, are:
SAFE LP, offering complete logging plus
event management in one appliance, and SAFE LA, which simplifies the
collection of logs from anywhere and forwards logs to other SAFE
appliances or to the company’s enterprise
security management solution, Intellitactics™
Security Manager (ISM).
To meet market requirements for the SAFE appliances, Intellitactics
partnered with appliance vendor NEI of Canton, MA. Hugh Kelly, senior
vice president of marketing with NEI, comments on the partnership: “Working
with Intellitactics to develop the appliance platform for the
Intellitactics SAFE appliances gave NEI an opportunity to do what we do
best – understand the client's business
objectives and develop the best appliance platform to exceed their
customers' expectations. For the SAFE appliances, Intellitactics is
taking advantage of the latest hardware advances and chose to embed
NEI's proprietary management capabilities and our appliance-certified OS
to ensure SAFE's availability, reliability and security.”
This announcement comes a week after the company announced three new
channel partners in North America and released a story on the company’s
new active integration and response™
(AIR) technology, which is rapidly expanding the size of its eco-system.
With this new product direction, reflected in the SAFE appliances,
Intellitactics is stepping into the broader market with a new business
model. Scott Crawford, Research Director of the Security and Risk
Management Practice with Enterprise Management Associates, comments on
the Intellitactics approach: “By offering a
diverse suite of products, each with its own complement of valuable
functionality, Intellitactics is now poised to deliver SIEM solutions to
organizations previously overlooked or underserved by the SIEM market.
We think Intellitactics will see success with this new business model
that showcases Intellitactics’ thought
leadership in SIEM product development and delivery.”
The SAFE appliances deliver stand-alone capability or can be
hierarchically deployed when security management is shared between
remote locations and headquarters. Each appliance aims to increase
accessibility to SIEM, but discards the one size fits all approach of
other vendors. SAFE LP, as an example, offers complete functionality on
one appliance and is available in several sizes to ensure that the
anticipated volume of logs and events can be processed and stored
without impacting product performance or reliability. Intellitactics
SAFE appliances provide plug-and-play logging and logging plus event
management appliances that stand alone or can be combined in a
hierarchical deployment for organizations with distributed management of
security. SAFE appliances are built to military standards and can be
securely managed through a web-based graphical interface.
“For the last few years, many companies have
been making do with logging appliances that simply collected and stored
logs and found themselves spending many hours and a lot of money on
products promising to expose logs with meaningful data. Logs serve a
useful purpose, but we wanted the SAFE appliances to deliver an improved
result. Because it’s an appliance and because
the ‘know how’ is
in the box, every organization can be confident that they can implement
event management in a way that best fits their environment and reap the
benefits of effective risk management,”
explains Sunil Bhargava, chief technology officer for Intellitactics.
SAFE LP is the logging plus event management appliance that
uncovers hidden information in the logs. SAFE LP’s
security events give the organization a jump start on security by
eliminating false positives, isolating threats and doing something about
them. SAFE LP is ideal for organizations with a compliance focus that
benefit from packaged reports for regulatory standards, like HIPAA and
PCI DSS, along with a report wizard to create new and edit existing
reports. The new Web 2.0 user interface includes a dashboard and an
event explorer to rapidly mine the rich store of security information in
Intellitactics’ Security Data Warehouse™
(SDW). Users click from any type of notification to event reports or
from a dashboard chart to events detail and associated logs in seconds.
SAFE LA is an affordable appliance designed to simply collect
logs from any source located anywhere and safely delivers the encrypted,
compressed logs to an SDW. The reliable SAFE LA delivers
high-performance log collection 365x7x24 and is ideally suited for
un-manned remote locations.
Because each appliance is self-contained, you only need one appliance.
SAFE is good for the environmentally responsible. Choosing SAFE doesn’t
require multiple appliances taking up rack room to accommodate log
volume. There is less energy consumed and less energy required for
cooling crowded racks.
