Improving the Efficiency of SOA-Based Applications
jhv1blz5 wrote: The article validated SOA as an IT architecture paradigm that can be leveraged in many ways. Taking data storage, scalability and application performance to a nifty level using SOA Application Grid infrastructure will no doubt enhance data and application performance on Oracle architecture platforms, it also has the promise of a cost effective and efficient IT delivery model. The very benefits of SOA.

Ray Stata, co-founder and chairman of Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI), received the 2008 ACE Lifetime Achievement Award from the editorial board of EE Times, which pays tribute to semiconductor industry pioneers for their significant accomplishments over the course of their careers. The ACE (Annual Creativity in Electronics) Award honors Mr. Stata for his contributions to technology innovation in the electronics industry and his more than 50 years of corporate leadership. Mr. Stata received the award on April 15 at the ACE Awards Gala, which was held in conjunction with this year’s Embedded Systems Conference, Silicon Valley.

“We are proud to honor industry innovator Ray Stata with a Lifetime Achievement Award,” said Paul Miller, CEO of TechInsights, a division of United Business Media, LLC, which publishes EE Times. “His entrepreneurial spirit and tireless dedication to self-reinvention serves as an inspiration for future generations of technology pioneers.”

Ray Stata co-founded Analog Devices in 1965, initially to provide standard product operational amplifiers that customers could buy as components instead of designing and manufacturing their own. The vision for the company was later expanded to include data converters, digital signal processors and other linear and mixed signal integrated circuits to enable a broad range of real world signal processing applications.

“I am honored to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from EE Times,” said Ray Stata. “This award reflects the dedication and talent of the employees at ADI, who have shared in my passion for innovation and creativity in the global technology industry.”

Ray Stata's ability to stay ahead of the technology curve has helped guide ADI to continuously provide innovative products that enable customers to achieve competitive advantage. Mr. Stata served as CEO of the company from 1971 to 1996. He has been chairman of the board since 1973 and continues to serve in this capacity.

"Ray has been at the cutting edge of innovation for over 50 years," said Jerry Fishman, president and CEO of Analog Devices. "His vision in founding ADI was to solve our customers’ most difficult signal processing challenges by hiring the most talented people, and allowing innovation to drive the process. The enduring insightfulness of this vision has transcended more than four decades and continues to define Analog Devices.”

Ray Stata graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a BSEE and MSEE and is now chairman of the Visiting Committee of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He also serves on the executive committee of MIT’s Board of Trustees.

Throughout his career in the technology industry, Ray Stata has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the SIA Founders Award, the IEEE Founders Medal, and a 2004 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
