Averox (Pvt) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Averox Inc. (OTCBB:AVOX),
today announced further planned major enhancements to its licensed
ProvisusTM provisioning and activation solutions
portfolio. In 2007, Averox entered into a global partnership with
Provisus Limited, a UK based OSS (Operations Support Systems) solutions
provider to the telecom industry, for ProvisusTM
convergent service activation software solution. Under the terms of this
agreement, Averox markets, sells, deploys and supports ProvisusTM
to telecom operators globally.
Version 3.0 of ProvisusTM is anticipated to be
generally available for customer deployments starting in the second half
of 2008. The enhancements will be to support the provisioning/activation
of next generation services mainly based on Internet Protocol (IP) and
in particular it is planned that the enhancements will include support
for IPTV. IPTV (IP Television) is a system where digital television
service is delivered using Internet Protocol over a network
infrastructure. This may include delivery by a broadband connection. A
general definition of IPTV is television content that, instead of being
delivered through traditional broadcast and cable formats, is received
by the viewer through the technologies used for computer networks.
“These further enhancements will enable
communication service providers to quickly deploy revenue generating
next generation services. We believe IPTV is a major part of next
generation services,” said Mr. Salman Mahmood,
President and CEO of Averox Inc. "These enable providers to not only
increase value added revenues but also to reduce customer churn and gain
market share,” he added.
The Multimedia Research Group (MRG) IPTV Global Forecast 2007-20011 has
estimated that the number of global IPTV Subscribers will grow from 13.5
million in 2007 to 72.6 million in 2011, a compound annual growth rate
of 40 percent.
Furthermore, MRG has stated that Europe remains the leading region for
IPTV. European subscriber numbers have already increased from the
forecast MRG made in April 2007. According to MRG, Asia's prospects for
growth in IPTV have continued to improve as tests in China and India
have blossomed into successful deployments. MRG believes that over the
period of this forecast Asian subscriber numbers will grow from 5
million to 28 million while those for Europe will grow from 6 million to
32 million. North American subscriber numbers are expected to increase
from 1 million in 2007 to 11 million in 2011.
Finally, MRG concluded that the global IPTV service revenue forecast was
$3.7 billion in 2007 and is expected it to grow to $23.2 billion in
2011, a compound annual growth rate of 44 percent. Although Asia and
Europe are increasingly close in the number of subscribers, Europe and
North America are expected to generate a disproportionate amount of
revenue increasing over this four year period from $1.2 billion to $8
billion and $1.0 billion to $9 billion, respectively. This discrepancy
is due to lower average prices in Asia.
“We are impressed with the detail and breadth
of the MRG forecast of growth in the IPTV sector and believe that this
growth will offer substantial opportunities for ProvisusTM,”
said Mr. Mahmood.
