BIRMINGHAM, Ala., April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Teksouth Corporation (http://www.teksouth.com/), a veteran systems integrator providing data management and business intelligence systems, today announced it has been awarded a five- year, $17.2 million contract from the United States Air Force to administer a sophisticated data warehouse used by the Air Force to manage the execution of its $40 billion worldwide Operations and Maintenance budget. The decision continues Teksouth's successful, decade-long relationship with the Air Force. Teksouth built the data warehousing system, the Commander's Resource Integration System (CRIS), and has maintained the system ever since. Today under Teksouth's management, more than 14,000 Air Force personnel worldwide, with appropriate security, access the information contained in the data warehouse simultaneously, 24 hours a day, and rapidly obtain answers to questions that maximize financial performance, controlling costs, thus helping to save taxpayers money.

We have to validate our outstanding obligations three times a year, and the numbers are in the billions of dollars," an Air Force official said. Teksouth currently has 140 employees in Alabama, Washington, DC, and worldwide, with the operation of CRIS based at its headquarters outside Birmingham. Wilsher said he anticipates a modest addition to the company's staff to help administer CRIS under the new five-year agreement, especially as the number of Air Force personnel who need to use the system continues to grow.
