Virtualization Trend Enables Qatari Businesses to Fully Leverage Their Existing Technology Resources
EMC Tells Qatar's Business Decision-makers How EMC Can Help Them have Efficient IT Environments through Virtualization

By: Virtualization News
Aug. 11, 2008 03:00 PM

EMC recently addressed Qatar's business decision-makers on how can EMC help them have a flexible and efficient IT environment by realizing the full potential and advanced functionality of virtualization solutions from VMware. Executives in Doha heard how they can use virtualization solutions to pool storage capacity together and create a more effective data protection environment. They also heard how EMC content-enabled solutions can help them bring unstructured content into the process.

According to an IDC white paper, sponsored by EMC and released early this year -The Diverse and Exploding Digital Universe: An Updated Forecast of Worldwide Information Growth through 2011 - the amount of digital information being created is growing at close to 60 percent annually. Consequently, organizations are faced with the challenge to sustain their information infrastructures to match the growth of information while keeping costs down.

"Qatar's businesses are under intense pressure to show the returns on their IT investments, and by incorporating virtualization solutions they can ensure markedly improved utilization of existing data storage systems. As companies' information can be expected to almost double annually because of email and customer data, the market is rapidly transforming. Through our wide range of offerings for virtualized information infrastructure, we can help Qatari companies reduce IT costs while improving efficiency, availability, flexibility, and manageability of their information infrastructure," said Qais Gharaibeh, General Manager, EMC Gulf & Levant.

Virtualization requires more than just server consolidation, it requires storage, back up, archiving and recovery solutions that deliver the high availability and flexibility a virtualized environment needs. EMC's complete storage system enables customers to realize the full value of virtualization and is fully tested and proven in numerous VMware deployments. EMC offers customers and prospects in Qatar and around the Middle East, who are looking to leverage VMware's award-winning technology, tested and qualified interoperable solutions with VMware that can deliver scalability and five nines (99.999%) availability.

Regardless of the size of the business, the proven technology of virtualization can rapidly transform the IT landscape and help organizations overcome their operational challenges.
