Application server management software developer NGASI has
introduced a hosted version of its AppServer Manager on Amazon EC2.
The “no installation required” service gives Amazon EC2
users the option of not installing their own version of NGASI AppServer Manager
to manage application servers.
The NGASI AppServer Manager is supposed to automate
application server management via an AJAX-based web interface, command-line
script, Java API and Web Services; automate the installation of application
servers and the applications on a single server machine, across multiple
virtual servers, and across multiple physical servers; and automate application
server load balancing configuration and management.
It supports Tomcat, JBoss, Glassfish, Jetty and Oracle-OC4J.
It’s also supposed to let IT managers centrally manage
application server assets and resources spread across the enterprise and lets
service providers roll out SaaS-enabled or cloud computing-based Java Hosting.
