The company received notice of allowance for U.S. Patent Application
Serial No. 10/676,637, which will result in Mirage’s
second
patent being issued in the normal course of business, likely by the
end of 2008. With one patent
already, Mirage now controls patents on pre-admission and post-admission
virtually inline technology, enabling unique out-of-band deployment with
inline effectiveness. With its strong patent portfolio, Mirage is
recognized as the leading innovator in the NAC market.
In addition, Mirage received the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Best
Entrepreneurial Company Award, presented annually to the company with
fewer than 300 employees showing the highest achievement in innovative
product development, strategic business development and focused market
strategy. The award attributed Mirage’s key
relationships with IBM/ISS, AT&T and strategic partners in foreign
markets as integral causes of its strong growth in 2007. Frost &
Sullivan expects Mirage will continue to increase its share of a network
access control market that is estimated to reach $530 million within 2-5
years.
Mirage also introduced the industry’s first
ruggedized NAC appliance. Independently tested to comply with select
MIL-STD-810F standards, the appliance was engineered specifically for
industrial environments in gas and energy, transportation, military and
manufacturing organizations. Offshore oil rigs, power generation plants,
manufacturing facilities and mass transit systems are examples of harsh
environments where organizations have tremendous challenges deploying
networking and security equipment.
“Our solutions have never been more
compelling and our pipeline has never been stronger,”
said Greg
Stock, president and CEO of Mirage Networks. “NAC
is quickly becoming a fundamental component of security strategies in
organizations around the world. Our customers continue to value our ‘easy-to-deploy’
NAC solution which works in any network environment. We are extremely
pleased with our progress through the first six months of the year and
expect a fantastic second half.”
