Taking data storage, scalability and application performance to a nifty level using SOA Application Grid infrastructure will no doubt enhance data and application performance on Oracle architecture platforms, it also has the promise of a cost effective and efficient IT delivery model. Ceelox adapted Ceelox ID, a biometric Identity Access Management tool, to work with Citrix servers and client computers.
"Using biometrics to secure access to centralized Citrix networks is a giant leap forward for Ceelox," Gerry Euston, CEO, said. His company, Ceelox, makes biometric access authentication and encryption solutions for PCs and networks. Ceelox adapted one of its core products to work with Citrix servers and client computers.
"Citrix is the name for application delivery," Euston says. Citrix Systems of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is an industry leader in virtualization and remote access over networks and the Internet. Renowned for their centrally organized server clouds and client networks, Citrix products are in 99% of world's largest 500 corporations. Both Windows and UNIX applications are available transparently on Citrix clients.
Working with Citrix has created new, strong partnerships for Ceelox. One such relationship has been cemented with Bayshore Technologies, a systems integrator specializing in Citrix Server Farms. "Ceelox ID Server Edition works seamlessly with our virtualization client user authentication," says Winston DuBose, Director of Business Development at Bayshore. "We are thrilled with the product and the company. Both of us having Tampa area headquarters is real a plus for our teams" he says. Citrix's client protocol permits ordinary Windows applications to run on suitable Windows servers, and for any supported client to gain access to those applications. Various thin client platforms build in their client software.”
Ceelox, a Citrix Technology Partner, is a private software development firm in Tampa, Florida, since 2003. Their motto is "Biometric Security Software made Simple." One of their primary tools is Ceelox ID, available as a stand-alone and network application, or as a software development kit. It uses fingerprints to control access to PCs, networks, applications, Internet and Web sites.
Scanning user fingerprints, Ceelox ID creates a user bio-template. It does not store a fingerprint image. The bio-template can eliminate the need for users to enter passwords. Unlike other IAM tools, Ceelox ID does not require the system administrator to either change or create new accounts for users. It searches for the bio-templates on both local and server computers, allowing users to log on to their computers even when the server is not available. Users simply slide their finger for LAN, program and Web site access.
Euston says Ceelox ID is the first biometric IAM tool to allow multiple Citrix clients to work transparently with as many Citrix servers as necessary. "Since both biometrics and Citrix servers are such rapidly growing markets," he says, "combining the two opportunities together strategically places Ceelox at the crossroads of much larger markets."
