CHICAGO, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan (GSH), among the
fastest-growing law firms in the U.S., has announced that Washington, D.C.
attorney C. Willis Ritter, Esq. has become a partner in the firm's growing
Chicago office, and Co-Chair of its nationwide public finance practice. Mr.
Ritter has charted a noteworthy career in the legal profession that spans more
than four decades. He is renowned as an expert in the financial and federal
tax aspects of municipal finance and markedly enhances GSH's already
considerable knowledge base and expertise in that specialty.
Founded in Milwaukee, with offices in seven other cities around the
country, GSH is home to more than 70 lawyers representing a mosaic of
ethnicities, which distinguishes it as one of the nation's most diverse law
practices. GSH LLC was established in Illinois in 2007, the product of a
merger with Chicago-based Burris, Wright, Slaughter & Tom, LLC. GSH's broad
service offerings range from a burgeoning municipal finance practice, a unique
energy and regulatory practice, to environmental, general litigation,
governmental relations, employment and transactional law.
The firm is equipped to handle a broad range of matters, from local to
more substantial concerns, regional or national in scope, and GSH's client
base reflects that capability. It boasts a number of public and private
entities on its client roster, as well as emerging businesses and issuers,
partnerships and joint ventures. Among its clients are Accenture, Aetna,
AT&T, the City of Chicago, Exelon, ExxonMobil, the Illinois Finance Authority,
Integrys Energy Group, Inc., Merrill Lynch, the City of Milwaukee, Shell Oil
Co. and the State of Illinois.
GSH's Co-Managing Partners in Chicago are Tim Wright III and Elizabeth
McDuffie. Emmitt C. House leads the energy and regulatory practice, while C.
Willis Ritter and AR AbdoulKarim Co-Chair the municipal finance practice. The
firm proudly cites its diversity of experience and education, positioning it
uniquely to provide services in the most progressive legal markets.
"I'm very excited about the partnership with Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan,"
Ritter stated in a recent interview. "As of last summer, I had retired, but
when Tim Wright approached me in the fall, I was intrigued. I'd been a civil
rights lawyer in the mid-1960's and have provided scholarships to minority
students at the University Of Virginia Law School for the past 25 years. So,
that type of commitment has been important to me throughout my career."
