MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Courage Center and the Minnesota
Council of Nonprofits are just two of the many Minnesota nonprofit
organizations in the nonpartisan R2P coalition set to provide rides to the
polls on election day. These rides will include six accessible minivans to
assist people with disabilities to get out and vote on November 4, 2008.
2008 is set to be notable in Minnesota with a projected voter turnout of
80 percent or higher. However, historically people with disabilities are 20
percent less likely to vote than people without disabilities. Getting to the
polls is a huge barrier. This goal of the initiative is to help overcome this
barrier and allow everyone's voice to be heard on November 4.
Please call 1-877-NOV-2008 (1-877-668-2008) or e-mail vote@mncn.org to
schedule your ride to and from your precinct polling place. Trained volunteer
drivers will pick you up and take you back home. Rides are available from 6
a.m. to 8 p.m.
