RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- North Carolina's Touchstone Energy cooperatives, in collaboration with 4-H, are sponsoring the 12th Annual 4-H EMC Clover Classic golf tournament on Monday, October 20, at the Governors Club in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The tournament was created to recognize those individuals and businesses, including the state's participating electric cooperatives, who have generously donated to 4-H throughout the year.
"The relationship the electric cooperatives have with 4-H is a long-standing example of one of the cooperatives four core values, commitment to community," said Nelle Hotchkiss, senior vice president of North Carolina's Touchstone Energy cooperatives. "We are excited to continue to grow our partnership with 4-H and are looking forward to another successful tournament."
All proceeds from the tournament, including silent auction sales will be used to fund Citizenship NC Focus, a legislative conference held in Raleigh for 4-H youth. At this conference participants learn how to put citizenship into action in their own communities.
North Carolina's electric cooperatives serve more than 2.5 million people in 93 of the state's 100 counties.
