Orange Legal Technologies, a leading provider of one source litigation,
audit, and investigation support services for law firms and corporations
seeking insight on electronically stored information, today announced
public availability of its Predictive Pricing Estimator -- an online
pricing estimation tool designed to help law firms, corporations, and
governmental agencies estimate, compare, and evaluate the monetary costs
associated with the use of analytics, processing and review services in
the conduct of electronic discovery.
The Challenge of Cost:Understanding Elements and Relationships
“Today the high cost of eDiscovery is a topic
that is top of mind for both legal professionals and eDiscovery vendors
alike as they seek to collectively address and manage electronic
discovery costs. However, it seems before one can truly address 'the
cost of eDiscovery,' it is important to understand the elements and the
relationships of the elements being considered,”
highlighted Bret Laughlin, President and CEO of Orange Legal
Technologies. “With that thought in mind, we
have developed a tool designed to help electronic discovery
professionals see both those elements and their relationships through
the lens of both electronic discovery volume and cost. Our hope is this
tool will help those in the electronic discovery arena as they consider
and compare the options available to them for their specific electronic
discovery projects.”
“One of the biggest problems we face in the
e-discovery space is definitions. If we can’t
describe what e-discovery is, how can we make rational comparisons and
choices when selecting products and services?”
shared Tom O’Connor, Director of The Legal
Electronic Document Institute. “Tools like
the 'Predictive Pricing Estimator' help us to define the components of
eDiscovery and then level the playing field to enable solid decision
making from a pricing perspective.”
Addressing the Challenge:OrangeLT™
Predictive Pricing Estimator
OrangeLT™’s
Predictive Pricing Estimator is an online predictive pricing estimation
tool designed to help law firms, corporations, and governmental agencies
estimate, compare, and evaluate the monetary costs associated with the
use of analytics, processing and review services in the conduct of
electronic discovery. Using a combination of industry accepted volume
and cost parameters, the Predictive Pricing Estimator allows users to
enter estimates for both the volume of data and potential reviewers
available and to see how these estimates influence data reduction and
review costs throughout the electronic discovery stages of analytics,
processing, and review.
Accessing and Using the Predictive Pricing Estimator
To access the Predictive Pricing Estimator, individuals can simply visit
the Orange Legal Technology website at: http://orangelt.com/estimator/pricing.html
and directly access the estimation tool. Access to the tool will allow
users to enter data volume and reviewer requirement variables which will
then be evaluated and presented as cost estimates for the analytics,
processing, and review stages of electronic discovery.
While Predictive Pricing Estimator results are non-legally binding
estimates, organizations can use the calculated results of estimations
to help in electronic discovery project scoping and planning.
Additionally, the estimator can serve as a tool to help develop Request
for Proposals (RFPs) and Statement of Work (SOW) documents that may be
used in developing and implementing electronic discovery project plans.
