In regards to the additional products, we have a skin installed and we have a product that we had custom developed for us that connects to a PostgreSQL database. We've looked at slow PostgreSQL queries causing problems and have not been able to find an issue. We've also tested for the case where the PostgreSQL server is down and have not been able to create an issue. We therefor...
WALTHAM, Mass., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Bit9, Inc., the pioneer and leader
in Enterprise Application Whitelisting, announced today that Bit9 Parity(TM)
has integrated with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator(R) (ePO(TM)) and has been
certified as McAfee compatible. Bit9 is providing the Bit9 Parity for McAfee
ePO solution for McAfee customers who want to use application whitelisting to
control unauthorized software and devices that run on endpoints (laptops, PCs,
servers, kiosks, point-of-sale systems) to increase security, reduce IT costs,
and demonstrate compliance.
Bit9 is one of the founding members of the McAfee(R) Security Innovation
Alliance(TM), a technology partnering program that accelerates the development
of interoperable security products and simplifies the integration of those
products within complex customer environments. Bit9 will demonstrate the
integration with McAfee at Booth #110 at the McAfee FOCUS 08 security
conference in Las Vegas, October 20-23.
"Bit9 is proud to be working with McAfee as an inaugural member of the
Security Innovation Alliance to extend the capabilities of McAfee ePO with the
Bit9 Parity application whitelisting and desktop lockdown capabilities," said
Doug Cahill, vice president of business development at Bit9. "With greater
control comes greater security and compliance. Bit9's ability to identify,
authenticate, and control the execution of unauthorized and malicious software
on the desktop is the perfect complement to McAfee's extensive portfolio of
endpoint security offerings. This is a natural fit that will bring tremendous
value to our mutual customers."
The Bit9 Parity for McAfee ePO solution tightly integrates Bit9
whitelisting with McAfee ePO, allowing customers to use ePO to manage their
corporate antivirus solution, personal firewalls, encryption software -- and
the Bit9 Parity whitelisting solution -- all from one user interface, helping
drive down management costs while increasing security. By adding Bit9 Parity
for McAfee ePO, IT and security professionals using ePO can whitelist the
approved software and devices that are allowed to execute while preventing all
unauthorized, malicious and unlicensed software. Enterprises that control
their environments more tightly using whitelisting are able to reduce IT costs
associated with help desk calls and "blue screens," as well as demonstrate
compliance with regulations such as PCI DSS and HIPAA by securing payment card
information and preventing patient data from malware theft.
Customers who take advantage of Bit9 Parity for McAfee ePO also gain
access to the Bit9 Global Software Registry(TM), the largest repository of
rich information on the world's software, with over 6.5 billion records. The
Bit9 Global Software Registry gives security and IT professionals a way to
find information on the unknown software found in a company's network,
including its trustworthiness, category (peer to peer, keylogger, instant
messenger, etc.), publisher, etc.
"I've been using McAfee ePO to handle my endpoint security needs, but
whitelisting was the one missing component. This integration brings it all
together," said Anthony Zannella, of Omgeo. "The powerful application
whitelisting capabilities of Bit9 Parity that prevent unauthorized software,
combined with the audit and management solutions from McAfee, enable us to
better secure our environment and respond more readily to policy violations.
We are glad to see Bit9 and McAfee combine their products in new and useful
ways."
