Aptana has announced the general availability of Aptana Cloud, an online service that integrates with Eclipse software development tools to enable hosting, scaling and managing Web applications in "The Cloud".
Aptana Cloud provides an end-to-end solution for deploying, scaling, staging, managing and monitoring your Web sites and Internet applications. You can deploy to scalable open source application platforms including PHP, MySQL, Apache and Aptana Jaxer. Scaling is as easy as moving a slider control to the level of computational power and data storage you desire. Aptana Cloud's hosted source control (SVN), staging environments, remote edit and preview capabilities, database tools, server logs, tail views and loads of other features support development cycles. Smart synchronization utilities simplify coordinating between local projects and the remote staging and production environments. After you go live, one-click backups, web stats and site performance statistics, and an active site monitoring and alert system enable you to keep on top of the operational aspects of your site. Secure shell access (SSH) and secure FTP (SFTP) are provided as well. Team management features automate adding and removing team members and controlling their entitlements across all systems. All features are integrated right into Aptana Studio 1.2 which can also plug into other Eclipse-based tools.
