Ramalinga Raju, the founder and disgraced ex-chairman of Satyam Computer Services Ltd, India’s fourth-largest outsourcer, who confessed last week to cooking the books, was arrested Friday, along with his younger brother, the company’s managing director Rama Raju, and its CFO.

In a highly unusual move, the Indian government sacked what remained of the Satyam board, intending to replace it with a new slate of directors starting with Deepak Parekh, head of the Housing Development Finance bank, Kiran Karnik, former head of the Nasscom trade association of high-tech companies, and C Achuthan, a legal expert who was once on the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) board.
