appointed Chief Executive Officer and President of Samsung
Semiconductor, Inc.
Mr. Hong will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s
Memory, LCD, Storage and System LSI divisions within the Americas. Prior
to his appointment at SSI, Mr. Hong, for the past twenty-five years, was
responsible for managing strategic planning, sales and marketing
activities at the Memory, LCD and System LSI divisions in Seoul, Korea.

mobile, consumer electronics and IT products, we will continue to work
with our customers to develop high-performance, advanced-featured
devices that are in big-volume demand in the marketplace,” said W. H.

Mr. Hong most recently was senior vice president of Memory Marketing at
Samsung Electronics in Seoul, Korea where he was in charge of developing
global marketing strategy for the world’s number one memory company.
Prior to that, he served as president of Samsung Electronics Taiwan.
Before that, Mr. Hong was responsible for sales and marketing at the LCD
Business headquarters in Seoul, Korea. Earlier, he directed Memory
Marketing at Samsung Semiconductor Europe GMBH. Mr. Hong began his
career at Samsung in System LSI process and product engineering.
