This resulted in a load factor for March 2005 of 80.0 percent, an increase of 5.1 points from March 2004, when the airline reported a load factor of 74.9 percent. The airline carried 657,578 passengers during March 2005, a 21.3 percent increase from March 2004.
The airline reported passenger yield of 11.38 cents for the month of March 2005, an increase of 3.1 percent from the same period last year. For the month of March 2005, the airline's average length of haul increased 3.5 percent to 985 miles, compared to the same period last year.
"Our March performance represents a record load factor for the month, as well as a second consecutive month of year-over-year RASM increase," said Jeff Potter, president and CEO. "However, it is important to recognize that while we are pleased with the 10 percent year-over-year RASM increase in March, and these better-than-expected results, they cannot entirely counterbalance the adverse impact that fuel currently imposes on Frontier and the entire industry."
The following table represents comparisons for the month of March year-over-year, fiscal 2005 year-end year-over-year and three months ended March 31, 2005, year-over-year traffic results.
