We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.
I've always been interested in the Microsoft and Apple story. It amazes me what these two companies did and how they did it.
Both started by young enthusiastic people. Honestly, I envy people like Steve
Jobs, Steve Wozniak, Bill Gates, Paul Allen and Steve Ballmer. They were at the
forefront of something huge.
A co-worker brought this to my attention:
http://channel9.msdn.com/shows/history/. It's a new video series on Microsoft
Channel 9. It brings you back, via short videos, to the time when it all
started for Microsoft. It's very inspirational stuff.
This is no lie, one of my favorite movies is Pirates of Silicon Valley. I
know that it very quickly goes through the beginnings of Apple and Microsoft
but it's still great to watch nonetheless.
The one thing that bothers me is that I didn't have the opportunity to get in on the action back in the 70's. Could you just imagine.
