WysDM Software Enters Japanese Market and Expands Global Presence With BIOS Corporation
Leading Japanese Distributor Will Bring WysDM Data Protection Management Software to AsiaPac Region

By: PR Newswire
Oct. 4, 2006 01:00 PM

NEW YORK, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- WysDM Software, Inc., a leading provider of innovative data protection management (DPM) solutions, today announced that its WysDM for Backups(TM) and WysDM for Fileservers(TM) software has been chosen by BIOS Corporation for resale and distribution with BIOS' portfolio of storage solutions in Japan. The partnership represents WysDM's rapidly growing footprint by extending its presence into AsiaPac. WysDM already has significant customer and partner relationships in Europe and North America.

"Our customers are increasingly demanding the ability to go beyond backup reporting -- they want to optimize their existing infrastructures and effectively manage their entire data protection environment," said Atsushi Kobayashi, senior manager of Data Management Division, BIOS Corporation. "With WysDM's software, our customers will be able to identify performance bottlenecks and potential vulnerabilities in their networks, so they can take immediate action to prevent problems from occurring. This is a tremendous benefit and we are pleased to add WysDM's DPM solutions to our storage products portfolio."

The addition of DPM complements BIOS' existing portfolio of storage and data protection solutions serving customers in the DTP and video market, pharmaceutical industry, security industry, university and research institutes, financial markets and related industries. WysDM's leading DPM technology, combined with the company's high-profile DPM OEM partnerships, were key considerations in BIOS' decision to use WysDM's software as it enters the rapidly emerging DPM market.

"Data protection management solutions are gaining worldwide attention and we are excited to build on our global presence by extending into AsiaPac through one of Japan's leading storage technology distributors," said Alan Atkinson, CEO, WysDM Software. "This partnership represents our commitment to the Japanese market and we're pleased that BIOS has selected WysDM to help its customers more effectively manage their data protection environments."

BIOS will offer WysDM for Backups and WysDM for Fileservers products to its enterprise customers. The only true DPM solution that provides both comprehensive reports and advanced analysis, WysDM for Backups provides a global view that enables users to understand even the largest and most complex backup and recovery environments.

The WysDM for Fileservers solution provides the visibility required to understand large and complex fileserving environments. Utilizing the WysDM(R) adaptive architecture, WysDM for Fileservers provides comprehensive reporting and analysis on all aspects of fileserver operations, including hardware configuration, virtualization, snapshot management, and performance.

Both WysDM for Backups and WysDM for Fileservers feature business policy enforcement for meeting service-level agreements, regulatory compliance, and internal best practices requirements.

WysDM DPM solutions use a patent-pending Cross-Domain Correlation(TM) technology to analyze information collected from all major components of the data protection environment, including servers, storage, networks, and applications. The solutions' adaptive architecture, combined with advanced service-level reporting and predictive analytics, ensures the health and state of critical backup, recovery and fileserver environments.
