Jun. 27, 2007 01:00 PM

CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 06/27/07 -- WestJet (TSX: WJA) today announced the introduction of seasonal non-stop service to three new International destinations in the Caribbean: Montego Bay (Jamaica), Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic) and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic). These new sun destinations are part of WestJet's enhanced winter schedule that also includes increased frequency to its Hawaiian destinations and new non-stop flights in its existing network.

Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President, Guest Experience and Marketing said, "We view the success of WestJet's service into Nassau, Bahamas as a significant indicator for future successful international expansion. Today's announcement is the next step in delivering our international expansion strategy. These new sun destinations serve the dual purpose of enabling Canadians to get where they want to go while introducing lower air fares to these markets. As we add more sun destinations to our network, we see tremendous opportunity to become the airline of choice for winter travel. We are confident that our modern fleet, low fares and award-winning service will be welcomed and well received as we continue to expand internationally."

"These new destinations enhance our network providing Canadians with more travel choices, which aligns with our goal of becoming a major international carrier by 2016," said Bob Cummings. "Increased travel connections within Canada, as well as between Canada and the U.S. and Canada and the Caribbean, increases our aircraft utilization, adds more value for our guests and ultimately results in improved financial performance."

More detailed information about WestJet's enhanced winter schedule and low introductory fares is available at westjet.com. Seats are available for sale immediately and can be booked online at westjet.com or through travel agents.

WestJet has applied for, and received, authority to provide scheduled air travel to the Dominican Republic. This is subject to receipt of government license for operation.
