The Rowlett police department received notification on June 26, 2007 that it had won first place in the National Specialty Vehicle Design Competition conducted by Law and Order magazine. Working side by side with the Rowlett Police Department, SkinzWraps designers created a CSI-type design which included crime scene tape, an electron microscope enlargement of human DNA, a super-sized fingerprint, and a magnifying glass.

The 2007 Police Vehicle Design Contest judging was based on the integrity of the designs submitted to the competition, as well as how each design met the criteria as outlined in the contest guidelines. Dozens of entries were received, and the judges had a difficult task while making their final decisions, noted the Rowlett Police Department saying, "They did a beautiful job on it.
