AMAG Technology and Vidient Systems Expand Partnership, Integrate Intelligent Video Router & Security Management
Integration Enhances Use of Video Analytics Within Security Management Systems for More Effective Protection of People, Property
Sep. 24, 2007 12:00 PM

LAS VEGAS, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 09/24/07 -- AMAG Technology, a leading manufacturer of security management systems for the commercial and government markets, and Vidient Systems, Inc., a leading developer of video analytics and behavior recognition solutions used around the world in security and safety applications, today announced the expansion of their strategic partnership with the integration of the Vidient Intelligent Video Router (IVR) 2400 and AMAG's Symmetry Video Management System at the annual ASIS International conference in Las Vegas. AMAG and Vidient are co-demonstrating their technology in booth #1530.

The tight integration of the two systems continues the companies' initiatives to marry superior video analytics and industry-leading security management systems for a wide range of markets and applications, both indoors and out.

The integration of the two systems improves the scalability, processing power and interoperability of the companies' shared network-based systems. The Vidient IVR2400 is a high performance, field-deployable multi-port network appliance with industry-leading, field-proven Vidient SmartCatch Analytics 3.0® built in to detect and analyze suspicious behaviors. Featuring unequalled video processing power, the IVR2400 can simultaneously process and encode/transcode, in either H.264 or MPEG-4, four full video channels, more than double that of any other product available today. Placed at the network edge, the IVR2400 analyzes and encodes high quality video from both analog and digital IP cameras, directly converting any surveillance system into an efficient and intelligent video analytics network.

"By integrating our edge product with AMAG's industry-leading Symmetry solutions, we are taking a major step towards our vision of a fully integrated, highly scalable intelligent video analytics network," said Brooks McChesney, Founder and Chief Client Development Executive of Vidient. "AMAG is an important global partner in our quest to bring networked video analytics to places that it has never been before."

AMAG, a G4Tec company, and its Symmetry Security Management Solutions are relied upon by progressive companies around the world for comprehensive, enterprise-wide access control and video management in highly diverse markets, including government, commercial, education, transportation, healthcare, retail and banking.

Since forming their initial partnership last spring, Vidient and AMAG have enhanced the use of AMAG's Symmetry Video Management software system through integration with Vidient SmartCatch 3.0 behavior recognition and video analytics software, enabling it to detect specific behaviors even in volatile weather and lighting conditions, as well as to function flawlessly in busy public areas. Vidient SmartCatch classifies uncharacteristic or suspicious events so that security guards and personnel know the difference between a person crossing a secured parking lot and a trash can being blown by the wind. Data is structured to enable quick searching and, in keeping with Symmetry Video's protocol, forwarded on demand.

"AMAG and Vidient share a vision of pushing the real power of video analytics to the edge of security networks, regardless of the complexity or geographic location," said Bob Sawyer, President of AMAG Technology. "Both companies bring best-in-class technology to the table and have a strong desire to continue the innovative trend of fully networked intelligent video analytics that are faster and more accurate than their predecessors."
