FALLS CHURCH, VA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 09/24/07 -- Aptara, Inc., a global leader in integrated content transformation solutions, today announced that IOP Publishing has selected Aptara to support it in the production of the prestigious journals of the American Astronomical Society (AAS). Aptara will provide copy-editing and composition services for three renowned journals that serve as crucial and well-respected resources for astronomers worldwide. The AAS was established in 1899 and is the major organization for professional astronomers in North America.

Wholly owned by The Institute of Physics (London, UK), IOP Publishing is an international leader in scientific publishing and electronic dissemination of information in physics and related fields. IOP Publishing and Aptara have been working together since 2000 distributing information designed to increase the understanding and application of physics. Under the AAS contract, IOP Publishing will publish The Astronomical Journal, The Astrophysical Journal and The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

"Aptara is very pleased to support IOP Publishing in the production of these prestigious scholarly journals," said Gurvinder Batra, CTO of Aptara.
