IRVING, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 12/12/07 -- Produce Safety & Security International, Inc.
(PINKSHEETS: PDSS) is pleased to announce that the Company has completed
its research and development phase of the Produce Safety & Security
Tracking and Audit System. The system will track and prepare all shippers
for inspection and testing of their products. The Company has submitted a
proposal to gulf coast sea ports for the new system to track and monitor
receiving, inspection and shipment processes for all foods going in and out
of ports.
The Tracking and Audit system will use a series of bills of lading, which
are assigned special bar codes to track information on specific shipments
within each port. Each bill of lading will carry information such as time
of arrival, grading of last inspection, grower's name and information, and
where the shipment is held in the warehouse. Produce Safety & Security
will then create an electronic communications process by which bills of
lading are transmitted to Produce Safety when either a shipment is sent or
received to a port or warehouse. The receipt of this electronic bill of
lading (eBoL) will serve as the initiation point for Produce Safety &
Security's processing.
"One contributing factor to food deterioration & food borne illnesses is
the time it takes to get all the necessary paperwork and inspections in
order to pass through the port authority screenings. We feel our system
will greatly reduce the likelihood of food borne illness and spoilage and
increase productivity for shipping and receiving products throughout the
United States," stated Clarence W. Karney, CEO of Produce Safety & Security
International, Inc.
