E-One Moli Energy Corp. (Molicel), the leading developer and manufacturer of Li-ion rechargeable battery, marks its 10th anniversary in business on March 11, 2008. During the celebration, E-One Moli (Molicel) exhibits Li-ion rechargeable battery for hybrid vehicle (HEV), plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV), and electric vehicle (EV).

“This is an exciting time and a milestone for the company,” said Raymond Lee, President and CEO of E-One Moli (Molicel). “We have experienced consistent and rapid growth over the past 3 years providing new and challenging opportunities for our employees.”

E-One Moli (Molicel) was founded in Long Tan, Taoyuan as a new independent business in March 1998. Its charter was to focus on the research and development of Li-ion rechargeable battery to effectively introduce to the consumer market. In 2000, E-One Moli (Molicel) outgrew its facility and moved to Tainan Science Park, Tainan. Currently, the company is manufacturing and marketing a variety of cylindrical and prismatic cells, and turnkey battery system solutions in any portable devices.

In 2004, E-One Moli (Molicel) took the product a giant step forward; it launched the first high-power lithium-ion battery-IMR26700 for cordless power tool. This power cell was designed to deliver increased power and up to twice the runtime as traditional power tool models. It supplies power sources for electric bikes, hybrid vehicle (HEV), and plug-in HEV.

“Over the past ten years, E-One Moli (Molicel) has developed a significant range of products to serve the needs of the market. Our next targets are to provide Li-ion rechargeable battery module for laptop, power tool and electric vehicles. For electric vehicle battery module, we are working with our strategic partners to meet DOE’s requirement,” stated Raymond Lee. The company will launch new high-power cell and high-rate cell during this year.

E-One Molis’ employees and their families will gather in Tainan plant, Tainan this month to celebrate the anniversary and reflect on the firm’s accomplishments.
